"Slavery days are over??? How many countless times have I heard that phrase used in the workplace or in my daily travels, but I see each day that it is not over.

If we turn back in our history books, what made slavery so effective was not slave owners who mistreated their slaves, but it was, in fact, the on-going battle between, house nigga and field nigga; the same battle that goes on to this very day.

Not to sound racist by any means, but if you look in most homeless shelters; who will you see that are running them...blacks.

Or who will you see that are enforcers of policy and procedure...blacks.

Who will you see that is putting people out of shelters because something they did or said that was out of the way or just plain wrong???...blacks.

And who will you see that will be on the receiving end of these bars???...largely, blacks.

The same mentality that kept us in bondage for hundreds of years is still in effect to this very day, by very own people; nonetheless; which is a sad reality.

We, as a black race are still being enslaved by our own race and this should never be. The late great Martin Luther King spoke highly against manner of treatment. He did not just speak of us walking hand in hand with other ethnicities, he spoke of us being able to walk hand in hand with our own race of people and that has not happenned because of that same narrow-minded, slave mentality.

Light-skinned blacks are better than the dark skinned ones, or blacks with "good" hair; whether they be a mixed race or not are better than a pure bred African black...sheer and utter nonsense.

Whether you be light skinned or dark skinned you are still BLACK...!!!

Get over yourselves.

There is not one thing that would make you any better than the next person; unless it was your heart.

If you had the heart to love your neighbor like you loved yourself, then that would make you stand out of the crowd.

No matter his race, hair texture, complexion or sociio-economic status.

Stop being the modern day MASSER who is keeping us in bondage.

If you were really smart, you would realize, that it is other races who have the good sense to have someone who is as smart as you think you are to keep your own people in bondage to crack, alcohol, shelters, etc...you name it and you keep me in bondage there.

Thats right!!!

Slavery days are not over...they have just been relocated.
